The mission at Jaguar, since the company was founded by Sir William Lyons in 1922, has been to create and build beautiful fast cars that bring the enjoyment and exhilaration of driving to life.
Creating exclusive, sophisticated and understated automobiles has always been a Jaguar hallmark. Ian Callum, Jaguar's design director, puts it this way: "You should always feel better when you get out of a Jaguar than when you first get into it."
But designing and producing beautiful luxury cars, which provide comfort, refinement and an unrivalled driving experience, cannot be achieved without satisfying all stakeholders´ interests and ensuring development is sustainable over the long term.
Jaguar's priority towards sustainable development requires continuous improvement in environmental performance. Jaguar strives to ensure its vehicles have the highest levels of safety and to reduce the impacts of its activities on the environment, by improving processes and products, making the best use of resources, minimising emissions and waste, and improving energy efficiency.
Jaguar has a long-held commitment to education and provides a partnership centre at Castle Vale in Birmingham from where local schools can tour the Castle Bromwich plant and learn about the technology that goes into today's cars and how this is being developed for the future.
