Shell Global Solutions provides business and operational consultancy, technical services and research and development expertise to the energy and processing industries worldwide. From their Cheshire base, Shell engineers formulate and test new fuels that help improve economy and reduce emissions.

The Shell Eco-marathon Youth Challenge is an educational platform that encourages innovation, reinforces conservation and fosters the development of leading technology for greater energy efficiency. The event has been running for over 30 years, making it the longest-established Quality Standard activity.

The Eco-marathon challenges students around the world to design, build, and test vehicles that travel further, using less energy and are a visible demonstration of Shell's deep commitment to face head-on the growing demand for energy worldwide. The UK event has a special focus on young people and has successfully expanded the number of schools entering the event, in collaboration with Honda and the Learning Grid.
