The Learning Grid maintains a Quality Standard for initiatives, so as to ensure that the activities which it supports are effective, safe and good value for money. Any UK initiative whose aims align with those of the Learning Grid may apply. Those that meet the criteria and are approved against the Quality Standard can also apply for funding from the Learning Grid to support growth and development - though not all approved activities are funded. A briefing note on the assessment process is available here.
The assessment is designed to be fair and to give all applicants a clear idea of what is required, how long each step will take and what the assessment criteria are. A pre-qualification stage ensures that only initiatives with a reasonable chance of success take part in the main assessment. The full process is shown below:

The first step is to register an organisation and the initiative(s) that it runs. Registering ensures that the organisation will automatically be notified when the next assessment round is held. Registered initiatives are added to the Learning Grid database and are notified when the next assessment round is held.
